Turkey recommended to holidaymakers
Tuesday May 13th , 2008

British holidaymakers have been advised that they could save money by heading to Turkey.
The European country was recommended by the Telegraph because it currently offers very favourable exchange rates with the UK.
By contrast, the strong euro has made countries such as France and Portugal more expensive places to visit.
Therefore, leisure travellers could get much more for their money if they fly to Turkey.
According to the Telegraph, the country is a highly affordable location which is also very easy to reach.
Furthermore, it said the cost of renting a property in some areas is about half the cost of accommodation in Spain.
The newspaper commented: "The simplest way to avoid rising costs in the eurozone is to go elsewhere."
This comes after Turkey was recommended by the Guardian, which described the country as a "bargain bagger's bliss".
