Turkish hotspots attract more visitors
Thursday March 6th , 2008

Several investment hotspots in Turkey are currently seeing increased tourism, according to new figures.
Lutfi Yigenoglu, governor of Mugla province, stated that towns such as Bodrum and Fethiye were attracting more visitors this year.
Speaking to TurkishPress.com, he said that more than 20,000 foreign holidaymakers arrived in Mugla during January and February 2008.
This is over twice the amount that visited the province during the same period of the previous year.
The figures are likely to be welcome reading for people who own rental accommodation in areas such as Bodrum, as they suggest that demand for temporary lodgings is growing significantly.
As a result, property owners could be in line to collect high returns from their investment, particularly if the demand has an effect on house prices in the region.
Bodrum was recently recommended to investors by Dominic Whiting, editor of the Buying in Turkey property guide, who said it was a "mecca" for holidaymakers from across Europe.
