With more than 300 sunny days, you can enjoy the golden sands of Altinkum’s beaches for many months of the year. Lie down and feel the warmth of the sun on your face and body while you read a good book or take a cooling dip in the clean, clear water. Sounds like bliss.
As well as its magnificent golden beaches you can’t ignore the ancient world, as Altinkum is also ideally placed for visiting some incredible places like the Temple of Apollo at Didyam or the awe inspiring ruins at Ephasus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
Alternatively stay at home and treat yourself to a great meal at one of the many waterfront bars or restaurants, where the menus are excellent value for money.
Take a look at the range of properties in Altinkum, you may be surprised at how affordable they are.
The local people in Altinkum are wonderfully warm and friendly, often going out of their way to make you feel at home in this beautiful place, of which they’re naturally very proud. They can tell you where to find the most beautiful isolated coves, the best meze and how to haggle for a good price at the weekly market.
They’ll also tell you about the history of this area and which of the many ancient sites are worth visiting. For starters we’d definitely recommend a trip to Ephasus where you’ll see some breathtaking ruins and also to Priene to see stunning temples and the grand amphitheatre.
If you love a bargain, Altinkum has more than enough shops and market stalls to keep you happy. You can buy all kinds of clothes, jewellery, leather goods, carpets and colourful ceramics at prices that are usually much lower than in the UK.
And when the sun goes down, Altinkum’s bars and nightclubs come to life in the harbour and Dolphin Square. And if clubbing is not for you, just relax over a good meal or a few drinks, simply soaking up the atmosphere.
